Valve reliefs for 1.625 dia inlet valve and 1.400 exhaust

PUSHROD AND TWIN CAM 1600cc BLOCK SAVER PISTONS
Block saver pistons - we now carry 83.75mm piston kits. This gives a .010” hone up to make use of those worn 83.50mm cylinder blocks.  The 83.75mm gives you a total engine size of 1603cc which I think would pass for legal in most Historic Racing groups ...... But don’t quote me.

There are a number of extra’s that can be added to CP pistons, as shown below.

In our opinion -  It has ben two decades since we purchased the first set of Carrillo rods.  At the time we thought they were an amazing product compared to what was available from other manufactures.  Now 20 years on the competition has come a long way, however Carrillo for us are still the first choice every time.

The 4.826” long rod in standard width journal will fit the 1500 Pre x/flow and 1558 twin cam.  It is .026” longer than the standard factory rod which puts the piston close to the top of the bore. This creates a tighter squish area helping with combustion.

The 5.230” long Narrow journal rod has been used in most racing Cosworth BD motors.  This long rod combined with our short deck piston makes for a very strong short motor.  This extra length gives a better rod to stroke ratio of 1.826 compared to 1.685 of the standard rod.  Less rod angularity gives the crank an easier life and in effect slows the piston in and out of TDC allowing better fuelling at high rpm.

KENT X/FLOW PISTON SET
83.5mm X/flow piston set used with the standard crank and rods makes for a very useable 1700cc motor.  
With a pair of DCOE carbs and modest cam a good torque 150hp is available.  Unlike the standard crossflow pistons  these are made with symmetrical valve reliefs so any piston will fit in any bore.
The chamber size in the piston will give 10:5cr with the early X/flow shallow chamber head or 12.0cr with later flat head.
Piston valve reliefs are .300” deep and will accept valve dia sizes to 1.625” inlet  1.440” exhaust
